Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club

The Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club was founded back in 1968 and became a Company limited by guarantee in 1988.

We are the organisers behind Scottish Transport Extravaganza, which is now in its 36^th year. From humble beginnings back in 1968 the club has gone from strength to strength over the years to become one of the premier events of its kind in the UK.

This has been no mean feat and is solely down to the dedication of all Committee Members, Club Members and Helpers past and present who have helped to build the event to what it is today. New Premises

New premises at Bridge View House Every July, Glamis Castle welcomes a spectacular array of automotive machinery and tens of thousands of visitors to the Scottish Transport Extravaganza.

The showpiece event is staged by the Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club—and it is set to attract many more people to the area with the creation of a new base on the site of the old Glamis station.

Scheduled for completion next spring, the purpose-built home will give members the space to store, restore and showcase a diverse array of vintage vehicles—and the name above the door of the new building on the Glamis-Kirriemuir road is already drawing old car fans.

Office space, a workshop and showroom are all incorporated in the new building, which SVVC administrator Lesley Munro said was a tribute to the commitment and enthusiasm of the club directors and volunteers.

“This is the perfect location because we are so close at hand to everything connected with the extravaganza and it is in a very popular part of Angus,” said Lesley.
